My name is Angela Portner and I’m happily married with three wonderful children.  I have had a love for animals all of my life.  I am a person who could not be without them ever especially horses and dogs.

My first encounter with the giants was as a teen.  I was at a friends house visiting when I met their family farm dog. It was an ungroomed Giant Schnauzer. Something about the Giant made an everlasting memory in my head. We decided as a family to get into showing dogs and I told my husband about this Giant I had met. So we went to shows and checked into the Giant Schnauzer.  Along the way we met Michael Rutkas from Histyle Kennel. He introduced us to Trinity our first Giant and we fell in love with the breed. Histyle has been our mentors and support system and we are very grateful to have met such wonderful and dedicated people.

All of our dogs live in our home. None of our Giants live in crates, unless were working on house breaking. I have been successful showing my Giants myself and have really enjoyed it. Their personalities and show possibilities are endless. I occasionally breed a litter for temperament and sound structure. All our dogs come from great lineage.  Now my daughter is on her way to the show ring with the Giants, as well. We hope to see you at an upcoming show!
